Overview of our mail hosting platform

Our mail hosting platform consists of a shared mail server running Postfix, Clamav antivirus and Spam Assassin antispam filter.

The server supports the POP3 protocol (default) as well as the IMAP protocol.

The difference between the two protocols is in the handling of the emails that are on the server:

POP3 protocol: the messages are deleted upon download by your local mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird,...).
IMAP protocol: the messages are kept on the server until you delete them. Additionally, the messages are synched by all the mail clients that access your account, which is advantageous if your access your email from more than one device, for example your desktop computer and your smartphone.

The available storage of your email account is limited to 1GB for POP3 and 4GB for IMAP. The size limit for incoming and outgoing emails is 10MB.

You can send outgoing email through our SMTP server, however certain Internet Service Providers force you to use their SMTP servers.

All our email accounts are protected via antispam and antivirus programs that are constantly updated to deal with new threats.

Our customers have access to a webmail interface to check their emails using their web browser.
